Golf swing weight training may sound odd, but I can assure you it is one of the most effective ways to improve your golf swing power, distance and accuracy...
Golfers are looking for the quickest way to improve their driving distance, and I can tell you with proven results, that using resistance while making a golf swing is one of several ways to add yards quickly!
Weighted Golf Training Club for Golf Swing Training
Using a weighted golf club is the simplest way to implement a golf swing weight training program. You see all the professional baseball players swinging a weighted bat, so why wouldn't a golfer do the same thing?
I personally swing my weighted golf club every day! It not only strengthens my golf specific muscles, but effectively loosens me up and has actually improved my range of motion.
Golf Exercise Tubing for Golf Swing Weight Training
Another effective, affordable and portable golf swing weight training method is using golf exercise tubing.
Just like the weighted golf club, you can't get any more golf swing specific than making your golf swing while pulling golf exercise tubing that has resistance on it.
The great thing about using golf exercise tubing is being able to break up the swing into its natural phases, then making your pull with the resistance. This way, if you have a deficiency in a certain part of your swing, you can attack it with tubing.
Weighted Golf Medicine Balls for Golf Swing Training
Another effective tool to use in your golf swing weight training routine is the weighted golf medicine ball. This tool has become very popular with all the professional trainers of pro teams in all sports.
Weighted golf medicine balls can go up to over 20 pounds in weight! The benefit is what we call power golf dynamic training.
"Loading up your golf muscles with a weight that is 10 to 20 times the weight of a golf club and doing core golf strength exercises."
Dumbbell and Free Weights for Golf Swing Training
Using handweights (or dumbbells) for your golf swing weight training program is also very effective and an approach I use with my personal golf training clients.
Dumbbells are so versatile. You can do every little move that is in your golf swing with either a single dumbbell, or using one in each hand. They are inexpensive and also portable, and take up minimal space in your home or office.
Implementing Golf Fitness Videos and
Golf Training Book into your Golf Swing Training Program
In all my golf fitness videos, golf training book and websites, I use all the golf training equipment I've mentioned above. The combination of all the above makes for an unstoppable and very powerful golf swing.
