To achieve a higher level of performance a proper golf swing is a must. But attaining this may be impossible for some golfers, unless they take a different approach to their golf improvement immediately...
There is not a question that the non-successful attempt to perform a proper golf swing has been the culprit to golf injuries, swing flaws, and overall lack of results.
There are many different golf swing techniques making it even harder to develop what you think is the proper way to swing a golf club. In fact, with the advent of video training, there are more golf swings to look at making this issue even more difficult.
The bottom line is sticking to your abilities and perfecting as best you can your own unique swing style that gets you the results you are happy with. You won't ever have a swing like Tigers, but maybe you can take aspects of his swing and apply it to yours.
There are some fundamentals that are the same in every swing. They are quite obvious, but should be mentioned. These components should be a focus for ever golfer. They are the backswing (including take-away), the downswing, and the impact into the follow through position.
You may find that just one of these components is the fault to all your mishits. It is much easier to work on a phase of the golf swing rather than the entire swing. Get that phase right and your golf swing falls into place.
I must add that physical limitations in your body will throw a kink in the mix. If your body cannot get into the proper positions, you will have NO CHANCE at a functional golf swing...EVER! I say this with strong words, because I have played with hundreds of golfers who are in this category, and they played miserably.
All you need to do is implement simple exercises and stretches to improve your limitations. You'd be amazed with a little bit of focus, how much you can improve.
After just a short time period you will notice a fuller backswing, more power coming into the ball, and a completed finish that you've never felt before. The end result is a near perfect golf swing!
