Stretching for golf is critical if you want to have a full, and tension-free backswing, that generates maximum power and distance!...
And exercise program for a golfer that ignores a stretching is a program you should never do. Stretching and strength go hand-in-hand to improve not only range of motion in your golf swing, but maintain feel around the greens.
Stretching For Golf
Improving your flexibility in golf is easy! It doesn't take hours a day, and it doesn't take a gym membership. Simple stretching exercises can be done in a matter of a few minutes.
Golf stretches can be performed even while you're sitting at your computer. There'r no reason (excuse) not to do these several times a day. Everytime you think about it, do one of these stretches. By the time your day is done, you've done dozens of easy and quick stretches that will help your swing immensely.
Simple Golf Stretch
As an example, a very effective exercise is a seated twisting stretch that can improve not only your backswing range of motion, but your follow through. Do this simple stretching exercise a couple of times a day while you're working and watch what happens! You'll be making a bigger turn with NO tension, creating a massive increase in distance!
There are also flexibility exercises specific to your swing that utilize stability balls, tubing and even dumbbells, as outlined in my other golf exercise articles.
Benefits To Your Golf Swing
There are dozens and dozens of direct and indirect benefits stretching can do for your game and your health. The eliminaton of aches and pains for starters! Back pain will be GONE! Tight hamstrings a thing of the past! Stiff shoulders and upper back...NOPE!
If that is reason enough to spend a little time on your stretching, then maybe ping pong or bingo might be your next option. No...I'm serious about this. In fact so serious I put out a golf stretching dvd that can be finished in 7 minutes! Yes...7 minutes a couple of times a week to play the best golf of your life!
Even after your golf game begins to show improvement, it is a good idea to continue with your stretching and exercise golf improvement routine, so as to keep your body and muscles in tip-top condition. This is especially true for your golf swing.
Stretching Exercises for Golf are the real key to improving your golf swing and your game.
