Gary Player Talks Golf Fitness, Exercise & Nutrition

I just got done watching the Golf Channel Academy Live show and the legendary Gary Player was on. You know…this guy has more energy than a 15 year old! Unbelievable! I am so impressed with his zest for life and the game of golf.

It was great hearing him tell the viewers how important golf fitness, exercise and nutrition is. He talked about “medicine, medicine, medicine” and how it is abused and overly used by Americans…and it doesn’t have to be. But what Americans consume in the form of food is horrendous! And that is what he was referring to.

He had a phrase, “if man made it, don’t eat it!”, that I think stands pretty true. It may be a bit extreme, but overall…it’s a good approach to take.

Fruits, vegetables and fish were his staple. Not a bad lesson to learn.

And of course he ranted about exercise and the importance of taking care of yourself not only for your golf game, but for your health. And…the fitness guru of all…Jack LaLane called in. 92 years old…unbelievable! What an example he sets for everyone to live by. I know it motivated me.

Overall…the show was very entertaining!
