Golf Warm Up Stretches To Avoid Early Round Blowups

With the season nearing for a lot of you, I wanted to bring up the topic of golf warm up stretches and how critical it is in avoiding those early round blow up holes.

I see this all scenario all the time!

A golfer gets to the course with 5 minutes to go before their tee time. Run to the range, hack up some driver swings and rush off to the first tee.

Result?

Bogey, double-bogey, or how about the dreaded ‘snowman” right out of the shoot!

This does not have to happen. But the only way to avoid this is to properly warm up your body to play optimal golf.

This entails dynamic (movement) stretches to get your joints and muscles warmed up and moving freely in your golf swing.

I don’t want you doing static (holding) stretches as this will inhibit your performance, not help it.

Examples of dynamic golf warm up stretches are: arm circles, overhead arm extensions with a golf club, partial squats, toe touches…you get the idea.

So next time you only have 5 minutes to go before your tee time, do some golf warm up stretches, get to the first tee and make some full golf swings and off you go!
