Core Golf Fitness Adds Power
You hear the term “core” oftent these days. Core golf fitness is a term I would like golfers to grasp on to and put to good use. Core golf fitness means training the middle of your body with rotational exercises and stretches. They don’t all have to be rotational, but since golf is a “turn back” and a “turn through”, I would recommend at least 75% of your exercsies and stretches be rotational in nature.
Another benefit of core golf fitness is the time-saving. Instead of doing a “total body” golf fitness workout, you can do a core golf workout and it only takes less than half the time. I am a firm believer in training the body as a whole, but this is one approach that can definitely be used when you have a time crunch.
One example of a core golf fitness exercise is the Seated Twist with Tubing. This is just one of hundreds of effective exercises you can do right in your home with minimal equipment. Another example is the Lunge with a Twist. This exercise is somewhat of a total body movement, but couple with the twist, it engages your core.
Hopefully you’re getting a better idea how to pick the right golf exercise program to beneift your game.
