How To Improve Your Golf Driver Swing And Increase Driving Distance
Every golfer dreams of a golf driver swing with a ton of power. I know everytime I pull out my driver, I want to launch it well over 300 yards…but that doesn’t always happen. How come?
It’s a known fact, that if you try harder at any athletic movement, your muscles get tighter. Tighter muscles move SLOWER, therefore producing LESS power and for golfers, much less distance.
The answer to this golf driver swing dilemma is 70%!
When you step on the course, you “got what you got”. You’re not going to miraculously get stronger or more flexible, so swing beyond your current physical capabilities will get you know where.
So the solution to this problem is swing your golf driver at 70% max effort for you. This is really hard to do…trust me. It’s so much easier just to whack at it with all your might and hope your golf swing sequence was close to being good, so you get back to impact with in the right positions.
Swinging at 70% will allow you to have a much more consistent golf swing sequence, therefor promoting better ball-clubface contact. Hitting the center of the clubface is critical if you want to take advantage of good swing mechanics.
Swinging at 130 mph and hitting it off the toe of your driver will results in 10 to 20 to 30 or more yards LOST off the tee.
So next time you go out, swing the entire round at 70% of your current maximum and see what happens.
Here’s to happy golfing!
