Golf instruction is a critical aspect of golf improvement. My only concern is the glutt of “so-called” golf instructors who have no business working with golfers. I’m talking about the ones who are not certified, nor have they received any formal education in golf instruction.
This just urks me to no end!
Golfers are desperate to play better, and don’t need a scam golf teacher to make their game even worse.
Make sure to check references; professional as well as personal background in golf; and talk to golfers who have experienced a lesson or two with them.
With that kind of research ahead of time, you’ll be okay!
Golf instruction is critical for a golfer to improve golf swing mechanics and performance. I truly believe there is a place in golf for taking golf lessons…but…I have some personal opinions based on hundreds of emails I’ve received and the dozens of golf lessons I’ve taken in the “past”.
Here is the problem I have!
Many (not all) golf instructors know the mechanics of the golf swing and try to get their students to do it…but with minimal success. The reason is “their body can’t do it!” You can tell someone they need to make a 90 degree shoulder turn with only 45 degree hip turn all you want…but if they can’t physically do it…it’s “impossible!”
This is the “missing link” I’m talking about.
For every golf pro…there should be a certified golf trainer working in conjunction with the student to produce the desired results.
This is the combination of golf instruction and golf fitness!
I have dreamed of putting together a Total Golf Performance Training Center…but to no avail! I have approached dozens of the so-called gurus here in Scottsdale only to deal with HUGE egos!
In the end…I gave up!
I will continue to preach my golf fitness gospel and hope golfers will listen.
