Tiger Woods is at it again. I am not a TV watcher, but boy was I yesterday. Tiger is in an 18 hole playoff today with Rocco Mediate for the 2008 US Open Golf Championship.
Grimacing on almost every tee shot Tiger show the guts of the entire field combined. No one else on tour could match his guts and absolute commitment to winning this tournament.
Having not played in 5 weeks and coming off a knee surgery that was not completely healed, he is doing what no other tour player could dream of doing. He’s put himself in a position to win another Major.
I’ll be watching the TV again, and rooting for Tiger, although Rocco is such a great guy, if he won I wouldn’t be too bothered. If it was Rory Sabbatini it would be a different story though.
My money’s on Tiger!
We’ll know soon enough, but what excitement Tiger Woods has brought to this tour!
I’m not a big fan of Michelle Wie! I’ll say it straight up! She came out on tour signing the biggest female golf endorsement contract and hadn’t even won or placed in an LPGA event. Do you think her LPGA competitors took a liking to her or not? I think you know the answer to that one.
I think Michelle Wie is in denial!
She needs to prove herself on the “ladies tour” FIRST, then try if she wants to make a men’s cut. She has overkilled that one! She has tried so many times, when she finally makes one, people aren’t going to be impressed. They’ll be thinking, “about time”.
These may be strong words, but she needs to support HER tour first, and maybe gain some friends on that tour, then go do other things.
Phil wins last week and Tiger this week. Who is going to win the Fedex Cup? The tournament is going to be at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Steve Stricker could sneak in there if Tiger and Phil are not watching.
It’s too bad Phil wasn’t playing last week, but now it adds a lot of drama to this weeks tournament. My money is on Tiger!
I watched both Saturday and Sunday and also part of his 63 round! He was hitting the ball so well this past weekend, I just knew he was going to win the PGA Championship! When Tiger is making some puts and keeping his tee ball in the fairway, it’s nearly impossible to beat him. His preparation both mentally and physically is unmatched. Who is going to step up and challenge him?
I’m sitting here watching the PGA Championship and in awe of Tiger! No one has taken golf to a level he has! With his physical preparation, he’s hard to beat. He’ll only lose when he is off just a bit. We know he can win with his “C game”, so it’s no surprise he’s dominating this weekend.
How many strokes is he going to win by??
Gary Player started it at the British Open. Boy did he create a stir! Gary stated very strongly that he knows for a fact players who are on steroids. It was interesting hearing what some of the players had to say.
“He knows two [players]? I know zero,” six-time major winner Nick Faldo said. “Never heard of anybody.”
“If anything, probably out here it would be testing positive for maybe being hung over a little bit,” Woods said. “But that’s about it. I know some guys have taken Medrol packs for inflammation in their wrists, but other than that, I really don’t see anybody doing anything, or have heard anybody doing anything.”
“I don’t think there’s even a remote chance that will happen,” he said of a golfer testing positive for steroids. - Phil Mickelson
Do you think Phil is on steroids? Not! How about John Daly? Or maybe Sean O’Hair (weighs 150 pounds dripping wet).
I think a little controversy won’t hurt anyone. We need to stay light-hearted about this and see how it plays out. Can’t wait to see!
Wow! Did you watch The Master’s yesterday! Man…the back nine it was still anyones game. This is one of the more exciting Master’s I’ve watched in a while! Zach Johnson on ly haven one just once on tour winning was unbelievable. With Tiger in the hunt up until the last few holes, Zach held composure and got the win.
I met his coach personally at the PGA Show in Orlando a few years back, and had an interesting talk with him about Zach’s golf swing. He was telling me it was going to be the ‘next swing’ in modern golf. Hmmm….do you think he’s right?
Man…I just got off the course yesterday having played with a nice father/son twosome. If you didn’t know, I live in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona and enjoy awesome golf year round!
Well..we got to talking and they were from Edmonton Alberta, Canada. Being a Canadian myself (by blood), but have lived in the US since I was 4…I asked a lot of questions. The father was retired, and had a place down here that he stays at for the winter season, and his son was just visiting for the week.
I asked how cold it got up there and what they said made my jaw drop to the beautiful green fairway grass I was standing on. Are your ready? They said with the windchil it can get to 40 below…that’s farenheit! Oh my god! I was cold that day and it was 72 (the sun was behind some clouds the entire round).
Needless to say…I am one lucky camper to be living and playing golf year round hear in the land of the sun!
I was so glad to see Vijay made it in the World Golf Hall of Fame! He is the hardest working pro on tour…hands down! Tiger…you’re a very close second!
He is the youngest player to be elected into this prestigous group. Being 42 years of age, he has one more tournaments than anyone in the history of the game after the age of 40. He’s won a total of 25 PGA tournaments!
I have always admired his work ethic! Practicing, fitness training and mental. He’s an animal!
Wow! I just watched her show on the Golf Channel. She has the perfect blend of athleticism, beauty and feminism you can get! The total package! Very nice to see an LPGA golfer so feminine looking. Way to go Natalie!
