US Womens Amateur At My Home
I turned on the US Womens Amateur tournament yesterday and kept staring at the course on the television. I kept telling my wife that’s got to be Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club. Low and behold it was. Even though I now reside in Scottsdale (got tired of all the rain), Oregon is still home and Pumpkin Ridge is where I used to play a lot of golf. Now it is over.

I just flipped on the television and literally within 5 minutes Vijay Singh was on with his golf trainer talking about his workout for golf. As a certified trainer of over 24 years it was nice to see a “real” trainer making a difference with one of the top golfers in the world (and over 40 years of age no-less). One statistic they just said was Vijay has won more.

Man…Corey did it! Averaging just over 260 yards of the tee no less! It goes to show you that driving accuracy and short game can win a tournament. His wedges are awesome. I’m not particularly fond of his golf swing technique, but it sure worked for him this week. After Tiger playing it safe off the tee at the British this year, I wonder if driving accuracy will become more.

Corey Pavin shooting an 8-under 26 on the front nine breaking the PGA record at US Bank Championship! Wow! Goes to show you a great short game can be deadly. I’ve always been impressed with Corey and am glad to see him out their competing near the top. Seems like a classy guy who is not willing to give up. It will be interesting to see if he can hang.

Tiger using a driver ONCE the entire tournament (British Open)! Really shows how important it is to play strategic golf and keep the ball in the fairway. In any other tournament the past year or so, Tiger is jumping out of his shoes with his driver and hitting it all over the map. While distance is a huge advantage…keeping it in play is an even bigger one. I know the.

I just got back from a round at the Marriott Wildfire Golf Club – Palmer Course where I shot a one over par 73! This is my lowest golf score ever! I knew I had a good round going, but just didn’t want to worry about it hole by hole. I had a couple of lucky breaks and a ton of great shots and putts. It felt like a really.

What a great tournament for the women last weekend. The US Womens Open Championship. I didn’t watch the playoff, but of course read about it. This win breaks an eight event winless drought for Annika. People were saying the 35 year old was losing her touch. Winning $560,000 moves her from sixth to second on the Money List, and makes her the first woman to eclipse the $20 million mark.

David Duvall making the cut in the US Open? How cool is that? I really like David and respect all that he has gone through. I would love to see him do well this weekend. I just read a great article on him at Golf Digest, that really exposes him and talks about how happy he is. I’m not a big TV watcher, but can’t help it with this tournament.
Read MoreWill Tiger Win The US Open For His Dad
I’m pulling for Tiger Woods to win this years US Open! How fitting for Tiger to win it on Father’s Day for his recently passed away father. I can guarantee you, Tiger will be holding back the tears if he wins on Sunday. They’ve got the course (Winged Foot Golf Club) rough so brutal…if Tiger starts spraying his driver, he will most likely not win it. It is impossible (even.
