Everyone wants to know what Tiger does. What he eats. What clubs he plays. What movies he watches. Everything! One mystery is what is Tigers golf workout? I can tell you it’s no mystery. He’s not hanging upside down from a chandelier chanting golf mantras. He is doing what many of the touring pros and all my golf students are doing.
Simple, effective golf exercises, stretches and routines. That’s if folks! Nothing fancy…but…he does it everyday! I mean even on a Sunday before the round of a tournament. His workout is very important to him and he knows it is one thing that gives him the edge.

Tiger Woods golf swing should not be cracked on anymore!
He has been critized since leaving Butch Harmon and hooking up with Hank Haney, but nobody should question it now. Can you say 2 major championships back-to-back?
I have been critical of his driver golf swing, but it held up fairly well on a very tight golf course.
His swing is looking back on track and watch out! With Tigers golf workout and golf swing he is crushing everyone all over again. Phil who???
My prediction came true! Tiger crushed the field! I have a sick sense this so-called slump he was in, while working on his new golf swing with Hank Haney is OVER! Two majors in a row! The players just wilted around him like they did when he first came on tour.
This rivalry between Tiger and Phil was pretty much decided going into the weekend…let alone on Sunday afternoon.
Interesting statistics. Second in driving distance for the week (remember he hit a ton of 3 woods and irons off the tee this week); Number One in greens in regulation; and his putting was pretty dang good.
I was impressed with his pure strength on some of the shots out of that deep rough. He is the ONLY one strong enough to do what he did out of that rough. Tigers golf workouts really payoff don’t they?
The greens in regulation is because of his distance off the tee and having such short irons in on all par 4’s and reaching LONG par 5’s in two.
Great job Tiger!
Everybody wants to know what Tiger Woods Workout is. I can tell you Tiger does nothing different or special than the other tour players or any of my members or customers. It is not rocket science, nor is it difficult to apply.
Tiger Woods brought the approach of golf workouts and training to the tour, and boy did he make a statement! Nobody took their fitness serious before Tiger came along. I know what you are thinking. What about Gary Player?
And yes that is true…but most of the players in that era just laughed at him and ignored this approach. Now everybody on tour (execpt a few people) have a golf trainer that travels with them full time. That’s how serious it is now. If you don’t take your fitness seriously, you won’t compete, and you won’t make any money.

I just flipped on the television and literally within 5 minutes Vijay Singh was on with his golf trainer talking about his workout for golf. As a certified trainer of over 24 years it was nice to see a “real” trainer making a difference with one of the top golfers in the world (and over 40 years of age no-less).
One statistic they just said was Vijay has won more tournaments after the age of 40 than before! How impressive is that! He does a ton of core strength and flexibility work with a medicine ball and stability ball. These are the types of golf exercises I have in all my golf fitness dvds, manual and online training program.
This IS the ONLY way to work on your body specific to golf. Going to a gym and plopping down on a machine will not help your golf game whatsoever.
In the same show, Stewart Appleby was swinging a weighted golf club and Zach Johnson talked about working with his trainer in the PGA trailer before a round during a tournament!
Go out there and get a stability ball and medicine ball and do some searches on the net for golf fitness and golf exercises and come up with your very own personal golf fitness routine.
Golfers workout can mean many things and either help your golf game or hurt it. With the adoption of golfers workout programs on tour, it has become mainstream with the golfing population.
But what is golfers workout, and what makes it effective?
First off, a credible golfers workout program is one that incorporates both strength and stretching exercises specific to your golf swing. I see so many programs that have one or the other, but very few that incorporate both.
By incorporating both, you not only improve your power, consistency and mechanics, but your “feel” around the greens with your newfound body awareness.
For every golf strength exercise you do, you should do a proceeding stretch for that muscle. This is the most efficient approach that will also save you time.
Also, try to mimic your golf swing positions when doing your golfers workout. That means “on your feet” and in your golf posture. This will give you a double benefit of golf specific strength and stability in your golf swing.
I have been contacted many times from men searching for exercise, fitness, workout and weight loss related solutions who also golf. This is a phenomena that is quite common and I didn’t even know it.
With over 27 million golfers in our country, many of them have health, fitness and weight loss goals, but they don’t realize there are golf specific programs that can help them achieve all the above.
If you are in the demographic of golfers between 50 and 80 who want to improve not only their health but golf game, you can do both. It’s not a bad thing to focus on your health and indirectly improve your golf game is it?
The majority of golfers I work with through my golf training membership site and golf exercise dvds, all want to lose weight. Some only 5-10 pounds, others up to 50 pounds. Carrying extra weight on the golf course not only makes it hard to perform sound golf swing mechanics, but the risk of injury is much higher.
Why not put your health, exercise, fitness, workout weight loss and golf goals all in one program? It’s doable and will take care of many issues at the same time.
Your core muscles are the engine to your golf swing. The stronger they are, the more power you will have in your golf swing. Most golfers think they need to just swing harder to hit it farther. If you’re one of them, did that work? I know I’m guilty.
The reason that approach doesn’t work is T-E-N-S-I-O-N!
Swinging harder adds a tremendous amount of tension in your body, slowing your clubhead speed down.
The beauty of strengthening your core muscles is being able to swing much easier (and in control) with minimal tension, and watching your ball sail down the fairway long and straight.
This is a reality when your core muscles are stronger.
To define your core is to reference the middle section of your body. You will hear many trainers refer to different muscles when discussing the core, but the main one is your abdominals. This, like any other athletic movement, is the area that produces tremendous power in your golf swing.
I’m a firm believer in a “connected golf swing”. That means your arms and upper body move as one piece in your golf swing. This simplifies the swing and makes it very powerful.
Just try to hit the ball using your arms. Swing as hard as you want. Did it go anywhere? As I said earlier, it’s your core that produces power.
Focus on rotational exercises with resistance to see fast improvements.
The golf season is finally here! And you need some golf workout information to take your game to the next level, no matter what your current golfing abilities are.
With the popularity of golf workouts booming…there is quite possibly information overload. What golf workout information do you take and use…and what do you toss aside?
First of all…look at the source of the golf workout information. Is he/she credible? Do they have experience in both fitness and golf? I’ve heard horror stories of personal trainers saying they have golf workout programs, but they don’t know a stitch about golf. Then how can they help, not hurt a golfer?
Secondly, get some referrals, or on the web read some success stories. Do they seem believable? Are these golfers in your demographics?
Next…can you contact this person either offline or online to discuss your needs? It’s critical to your success.
Now, if they take you in a gym and plop you down on a machine…run!
This is NOT a golf specific workout. A golf workout is primarily “on your feet” (like golf), and even in your golf posture.
You’ll want to focus on your core rotational strength and flexibility as well as you secondary (support) muscles like the shoulders, upper back; even forearms and wrists.
If you’ve done your golf workout correctly, you should be able to go out and hit balls, or even play shortly afterwards. If you can’t, you’ve probably hurt your game more than helped it.
I can’t go into specific details of a golf workout program, but hopefully this has opened your eyes a bit.
