Improving Golf Swing Sequence

Your golf swing sequence of motion is critical in reaching a powerful impact position. So many amateur golfers get this wrong and never can correct it. The golf swing sequence I’m most talking about is the downswing. This dictates your golf swing consistency, accuracy and power.

However, most golfers don’t realize it’s their body that’s keeping them from performing the proper golf swing sequence.

For example, the first move down, is the lower body, with the upper body staying back. If you have any restriction in core strength or flexibility from a rotational standpoint, this initial move will be impossible. Try and try as you may…it will never happen…until you address your physical limitation.

With the above limitation comes swing faults like “over-the-top”, lateral sway and many others.

It’s amazing when you fix your body, your golf swing sequence and mechanics immediately get better!

Training Exercises For Golf

Training exercises for golf are much different than for any other sport and for ‘general health’ as well. Golfers need to work their golf muscles in certain ways to get the most benefit. The golf swing is a dynamic and sequential movement that cannot be replicated by other sports training approaches.

Training exercises for golfers incorporate balance, stability, coordination and golf-specific functial movements.

Just take a look at the position your body is in to make a golf swing. It’s not natural and if your body is tight and weak…you won’t be able to maintain this position (golf posture). So the ONLY way to improve your golf muscle strength and flexibility is getting in that position as much as possible with all your training exercises and stretches.

It’s a “no-brainer!”

To train for golf, you’ve got to be a golfer. Same body positions and movements but with resistance for the strength aspect; and “hold and release” movements for the flexibility component.

Golf Tip For Golf Swing Balance

A good golf tip for golf swing balance is performing all your standing golf exercises on one leg! You heard that right…on ONE leg! This is one of the most effective golf tips for golf swing balance. You may have even had your golf pro have you make golf swings on one leg.

If you’ve tried…you’ll admit it’s quite difficult.

My thought is…if you can controllably do your golf exercises with resistance on one leg, you can go out on the golf course and swing in control and with perfect golf swing balance every time!

You will improve your golf swing quickly and with ease with this approach!

And if you live on the edge…you’ll go to the practice range and hit several dozens balls on one leg. By doing your golf exercises AND hitting balls on one leg…your golf swing will be dialed up!
