They say the most important thing in golf is golf IMPACT. I would tend to agree. Just look at all the different golf swings on the PGA Tour and you’ll see only one thing in common. They are all in virtually the same exact position at impact. Striking the ball with a descending blow; with the hands and shaft ahead of the ball, taking the ball first, then a divot in front of that. That’s what I call PERFECT IMPACT!

Just look at Tiger Woods below. This was take a few years ago when his golf swing was at its best. Look how his hands are ahead of the ball. Also, the forward lean of his shaft.

If you are a passionate golfer, you will agree with me that there is nothing better in golf than hitting the middle of the clubface, and effortlessly feeling the ball EXPLODE of your clubface going long and straight.

The only issue, if you’re like me, is we have the wrong sense or feeling of impact. I had never been taught what real impact in golf is. How it should look, and more importantly how it should FEEL.

Until now!

I came across this revolutionary golf impact training club called the Tour Striker. I have never, ever hit balls with a club like this! It changed EVERYTHING for me in an INSTANT. I am now hitting my irons 14 yards further, and for the first time, taking a nice divot AFTER the ball.

Highly Recommended

If you struggle with thin or bladed shots, as well as fat and heavy ones, you should take a look at the Tour Striker Impact Training club.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about all the frustrated golfers out there (including myself sometimes) who practice golf a ton, and don’t get better. What if you could play better golf with with no practice? In my opinion, this is a real possibility. If you think I’m off my rocker, listen to my thoughts and take them for what they’re worth. Deal? Okay, let’s continue.

First off, if you are like the golfer on the left, then you are a prime candidate for this article and approach. If you’re a happy golfer, then keep on doing what you’re doing.

Most of you have been playing golf for quite some time right? If so, then you have a basic understanding of golf swing fundamentals. I’m talking grip, posture, ball position, takeaway, top of golf swing and downswing. So if you’re like me you’ve hit hundreds, maybe even thousands of golf balls with no improvement.

What if instead of hitting more balls, you started to understand the proper “feel” of the golf swing? Really get into it. When you get this feel, now visualize yourself doing it over and over again. You can do this at work (be careful), at home. Anywhere. When you’re visualizing your swing, feel in your mind your body swinging the clubs. Internalize it.

I’m sure you’ve heard of visualization techniques. And how about the statement that golf is 90% mental? If you can start using this technique and really get into it, you’ll be amazed how much better you start hitting the golf ball. You will know what your body is supposed to do, and your brain will send the message of what to do. No “62-point” checklist, or 5 minute pre-shot routine before every shot.

They have done studies on this, and the people that visualize themselves doing the movement or activity correctly do as good or better than someone who physically practices.

It’s worth a shot. It’s only your time, not money.

So get back to me after you’ve applied this, and let me know if you can play better golf without practice.

Golfers who want to improve their golf swing, must consider strength training programs. You shouldn’t be scared that it’s going to ruin your swing. That’s “old school” thinking. I want you to realize how much your physical capabilities dictate your potential in golf.

Now I want you to take a look at the picture below. This is NOT what I want you to think when it comes to weight training for golf. There is so much “undue” stress on this guys joints it’s not even funny. We’ll never have you doing this.

Instead of blowing blood vessels (and ligaments), I want you to picture doing simple golf exercises with dumbbells (hand weights), exercise tubing, and a fitness ball. That’s your entire home gym. Yes, you heard that correctly. All of the programs I’ve put together are designed to be done in the comfort and privacy of your own home, with minimal and inexpensive equipment mentioned above.

I believe in training the body specific to the sport (movements required) you are doing. So in this case, the golf swing. I have put together dozens and dozens of exercises and stretches that enhance power and distance. And…they’re fun too!

Not being able to make a full, and complet turn on their backswing. I’ve put together a video with a simple golf stretch that will help you with this golf swing issue.

Just do this golf stretching exercise daily if possible, or at a minimum before your round and at the turn.

If you’re looking for a complete golf stretching program, you might want to check out my Golf Stretching DVD, where I’ve put together four 7 minute routines you can do throughout the week. So in ONLY 7 minutes, you’ve completed your golf stretching for the day!

If you want to learn how to drive a golf ball far, I have a little different twist on it. If you know who I am, or what I do, you’ll know I’m not a big believer in buying the latest, greatest $500 driver to get an extra 5-10 yards on your drives. In fact, don’t waste your money!

Here goes! YOU are the engine to how to drive a golf ball far! If you’re engine is inefficient, your mechanics break down; and the result is poor impact, and a dramatically slower clubhead speed. THIS is WHY you are not happy with your driving distance!

I can bet you right now you know how to swing a golf club. Would you agree? You’ve been swinging a club for years, so why aren’t you hitting long drives that hit the fairway. Do you just need a few more years swinging the club and pounding more balls? Is that the answer?

That’s insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result!

You need to fix what you’ve got. Work on the engine to drive the ball a long way. Lube your joints (nutrition and exercise) to pound that golf ball. If you don’t, the engine will be faulty for many years to come.

I have spent 10 years educating golfers on the physical aspect of the golf swing. Many golfers play with an injury, causing them poor results in score and even power. Do you play with aches and pains? If so, what do you think causes them? Do you think the golf swing is potentially abusive to your body if you’re weak, stiff and broken?

If one of the fittest golfers in the world (Tiger Woods) gets injured, what makes you think the average golfer, especially senior golfer won’t. Odds are they will, and will continue to until action is taken to strengthen and stretch muscles specific to your golf swing.

If any golfer thinks that being somewhat physically fit for golf is not advantageous, then I don’t know what planet you’re on. When was the last time you saw an unfit guy win on tour? Rarely ever! There’s a reason why. Don’t be in denial. Don’t be part of the masses of golfers who shun fitness, as you will also be among the masses who plays hurt all the time, and also watches your game decline year after year.

Achieving a better golf swing is not impossible, but for most high handicap golfers and beginners it seems like a pipe dream. I’ve heard horror stories of golfers spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on lessons, equipment, and golf training aids to never see improvement in their swing and game. Man… is that a frustrating position to be in! Would almost want to make you quit the game. I know myself, I have hit thousands of balls, and saw just minor improvement, and it can drive you to drink.

Here’s 7 Simple Steps To A Better Golf Swing

Grip

Posture

Ball Position

Takeaway

Top Of Backswing

Downswing

Impact

Grip

Your golf grip is your ONLY connection to your club. If you do not hold the club properly, you will not come into impact with a square clubface.

Can I ask how your golf season went? Did you see improvement, or where you about the same as the year before? In golf, we all strive to do better, but as statistics our handicaps are not going down. With the off season coming near, it’s time to diagnose our swing inefficiencies and implement a golf swing training program during the winter months, to shoot you into next season with lower scores and longer drives right at the start!

The focus of your winter (off season) golf program should be technique, golf swing strength and flexibility. That combination will dramatically improve your driving distance and even consistency. From now on I want you to think of the golf season as your time to prepare your body for the “next season”, not just a time to put the golf clubs away and forget about golf.

Like all other athletes in EVERY other sport, they all train in the off-season, so why wouldn’t a golfer do the same? It’s common sense to get better, you’ve got to put some “off the course” time in to see the results on the course. Doesn’t that makes sense?

Here’s where a shameless plug comes in

I know you’re time is limited with family obligations, and the holidays, but what if I told you, you could do a simple, easy and fun golf training program “in your home” with just a couple of pieces of very inexpensive exercise equipment in just a couple of minutes a day? Would you be interested? I think you would!
