I played golf yesterday for the first time in a month! I know…I’m the golf trainer guy right? Well…I am launching new websites like a mad man, and don’t plan to stop anytime soon! If you want to check them out, they are my new golf articles site with over 120 new articles in less than 2 weeks; my golf swing training aid site that I will be doing reviews on golf training aids; my golf balls review site; and a soon to be launched golf bags review site!

That is why I haven’t been playing golf, but my point was having not picked up a club in over a month, but like a good boy, doing my golf training program, I shot 39 on the front, but then my swing went south for a 44 on the back. This is a below-average round for me, but I was shocked at the front nine with no practice or play.

Could it be the training?????

My page is lame and boring, but now I have a golftrainer myspace page.

I apologize for the short post today, but I have been working on my new golf articles directory all day and it still is not done, but is now accepting golf articles. When it is, it will have great golf improvement, golf fitness, swing and business content all related to golf. It is one of the only golf article directories on the net, and hopefully will be the Number One directory with your help.

I get the Double Burger, but no cheese or their famous sauce…just the patties with “no bun” either. I most definitely eat their fries and have a Diet Coke.

Trent and I really look forward to this after our rounds.

This is my lowest golf score ever! I knew I had a good round going, but just didn’t want to worry about it hole by hole.

I had a couple of lucky breaks and a ton of great shots and putts.

It felt like a really conservative round where I hit 3 irons off several par 4 tees to “keep it in play”, where my playing partner hit driver. Goes to show you playing in control pays off.

Fun stuff!

I just recently got by 10 year old son Trent back into golf and he is loving it! I was in heaven, when at the age of 2 we got him a club and he could hit a ball with it. We even have pictures.

As any other typical boy, he got onto other things (electronics, etc) and golf was non-existent. I got him a US Kids Junior set about 2 years ago and he’s used them about twice in that time period…until 2 weeks ago.

We are now going out for 18 holes twice a week and really having fun (my game has gone south a bit, but that’s okay).

Yesterday I got a “wild hair” and started looking at a bigger set, and decided to splurge on it. We had to drive one hour to a Golf Smith store that had the set, but had a great time together driving down there.

He loves them!

They are a Lynx set, with not one, but 3 woods, two irons, a wedge and matching headcovers and stand bag. He only had one wood, and no wedge. He got so excited, we got to the car in the parking lot, and he wanted them out of the box immediately!

Needless to say, we are going out on our routine Thursday round and it can’t come quick enough for him. The joys of having a son who golfs.

WOW!

I just got done watching my alma mater Oregon State University win their first baseball world series in the history of the college!

I’m stunned!

Baseball championships from a state where it rains 9 months out of the year?

And the coolest thing is the head coach is from my “hometown” of Newberg Oregon. The two big sports families in Newberg were the Casey’s and the Pedersen’s. I don’t want this to sound boastful, but it is a true fact.

The Casey’s had 4 excellent athlete boys (including Pat), and we had my brother Dale, the number one ranked javelin thrower in the nation and myself bringing up the rear.

This is cool stuff!!!!

How many golf drivers do you have in your garage? Come on…how many?

I have five of them!

I will admit, I only purchase a new golf driver about every 4-5 years, since my philosophy…”it’s not your equipment, it’s your body” is what I live by.

But every now and again, I get the itch to go to my local golf store…and god only knows what I’ll come out with.

About a year ago, when I was visiting family back in Oregon, I came across a brand new golf store. Golf Galaxy was the name. For Oregon, it was awesome!

For the record, I wasn’t even looking for a new golf driver, but I proceeded to ask a young kid working there about their latest greatest drivers.

I’ve never before done this, but he lined up 10, yes…10 drivers for me to hit in this virtual screen that supposedly shows ball flight and distance.

I started going through them one-by-one and eliminating the ones that didn’t feel right. But it was comical…the screen was showing my average drive to be over 330 yards and my ball speed to be over 175mph. I don’t know how much I believe those gadgets, but I do hit my drives consistently over 300 when I play.

Anyways…I finally picked the Mizuno golf driver with a 9.5 degree loft. The shaft is just a standard stiff that weighs 75 grams.

I love this driver!

I’ve never hit a driver so far and straight. For a hack like me, it is very forgiving, and allows me to give it a good rip.

I still believe..”it’s not your equipment”, but it sure is fun to get something new once in a while.
